| For those of you who have been sleeping on da south for the last year or so, let me turn you on to the hottest new artist to come outta Memphis. He goes by the name of Kia Shine and after dropping heat such as "Respect My Fresh" and "Stunna Frames", he is getting the recognition he deserves. Kia Shine signed with Universal records and dropped his first official album (Due Season) in July 2007. This cat brings that fiyaa.. both in his beats and his lyrics. Y'all peep him on his MySpace page at... http://www.myspace.com/kiashineListen to some of his tracks and lemme know what y'all think of him. | |

| i'm not feelin this dude, but thats just me. i'm not a fan of music where rappers talk JUST talk about their jewelry or even their shades & shoes nowadays. but my main problem with that would be is that they dont even get creative with it. like when ESG said 'take my chains off let my body de-frost' is CLASSIC but also creative & clever. dont get me wrong though, a verse where they talk about that stuff every now & then is ok. theres a few good rappers that can do that. i can tolerate it up to a certain point. on my latest mixtape, TEXAS HEAT i had to take out some verses to some songs cuz i just couldnt stand it, for example 1 song was about Johnny Dang and they were talkin NONSTOP about their watches & chains (took about 2 verses off that song) and another song about about NEW ERA hats (also took 2 verses out). but if them tracks play at a party or club then all that crap i said before goes down tha drain! | |

| dont get me wrong, i always respect tha hustle. mike jones, i been listenin to that foo FOR YEEEARS and only came up with ONE hot line in that entire time, the 'i step in tha club and i'm throwin up my set...' line. i am not a fan of mike jones music but being a good business man and grindin his weak flow, he somehow got tha big labels to bite on 'STILL TIPPIN', which was HOT about 2 years before it finally got nationwide attention, got them to make it a MIKE JONES featuring paul wall & slim thug track and somehow got himself PLATINUM!!!!!
like i said, he's a dam good business man.
that one hot line i was talkin about is on CHOPPIN 'EM UP 7 - track 11.
ironically, STILL TIPPIN was released on a swishahouse mixtape called MAJOR WITHOUT A MAJOR DEAL aka THE DAY HELL BROKE LOOSE pt. 2 in 2004. | |

| This is true. The bussiness side of Mike Jones is what got him to where he is now. Who else can say their own name 25 times on a track and go platinum?? Anyway, it's good to hear other feedback on different artists. No one artist will be liked by everyone. It's their ability to relate to most of the people that gets them the attention and the $$$$$$$ !! | |
